Weekly Blog 10 (8/10/18): Get involved!

Hello!

We hope you enjoyed our Brewery Bash on Friday. A lot of you came down and it was fab to see some faces we recognised and also great to see some new people. As usual the atmosphere was electric and made even better by our friends from Newcastle Student Radio who supplied us with some funky tunes to boogie to. Thankfully the weather stayed dry although it was a a tiny bit cold but that didn’t stop us!

Harry, Kenton and Jordan brewed a batch of Lab Session for can, cask and keg on Sunday. Kenton and Jordan are our second pair of brewers who have nabbed a ‘Been There, Brewed It’ T-Shirt for completing a brew day.

Our Recipe Design meeting is on Tuesday at 5pm in the Buttery, as usual, this week. Thank you to the bunch who came along last week. It’s a great opportunity to make new beers and get to grips with experimenting what goes into recipes. Tom was busy making a stout last week. The current task for Recipe Design Club is Irish Red Ale, fancy getting involved?

We’ve got a couple more events lined up in the next few weeks. We’re heading down to the cider launch at the Town Mouse, more details here https://www.facebook.com/events/1607453702694625/, on Friday and then doing an Ouseburn bar crawl. Ouseburn is an amazing part of newcastle if you like beer. We’ll be ending the bar crawl at Northern Alchemy’s Spark Up Event: https://www.facebook.com/events/171831933717229/.

Also, a few of us are going to Craft Beer Calling on 18th Oct, if fancy joining us at this iconic event you can get tickets here: https://www.ticketweb.uk/event/craft-beer-calling-18-wylam-brewery-tickets/7914485 Wylam Brewery is another amazing place for all you beer lovers and is situated in easily the most scenic part of Newcastle City Centre, Exhibition Park.

That’s all from us this week guys! We hope to see you around. Hope your week is a good one…

Cheers,

The Stu Brew Team x
