Weekly Blog 14 (4/11/18): 4 years later…

Well… what an exciting week we’ve got lined up! The 10th of November marks 4 years since obtained our license from HMRC and years on we couldn’t be happier with how it’s going. Read on to find out what we’re doing to celebrate…

On Saturday, Matthew and Henry accompanied Harry to brew Into the Black for the first time in nearly a year. This batch is getting sent off for can however we’ll have a bit leftover for a couple of casks or kegs. If you’re interested in preordering one why not drop our sales team,  Harry and Lucy, an email. Also our Recipe Design Club met up last week to decide a lager prototype recipe which is getting made in the next few days. They’re meeting this Tuesday at 5pm so if you’re interested come along to the Buttery in Merz Court.

Friday marked the deadline for deposits for our tour to Belgium and we’re really happy with the group of 19 we’ve got for the trip. If you’ve paid your deposit expect an email with more information shortly. Who’s excited?!

On Thursday Carey, Tom and Chris are going down to the Green Gown Awards at the National Railway Museum in York. We’re nominated in the Enterprise category. The category recognises social, social media and sustainable enterprise as key ingredients of contemporary education to ensure a supply of education leavers who can rise to the 21st century’s economic, environmental and social challenges. If you want to watch our video we made as part of our nomination you can do here.  We’re over the moon to be a finalist for the category, fingers crossed for the results on Thursday.

Check out this week’s copy of the Courier for our Beer Of The Week. If you want to get involved with writing the column drop Tom an email.

On Friday (9th November) we’re throwing a BIRTHDAY BREWERY BASH! We’ll have an array of food from Sghetti Monster and roughly 10 different beers and ciders on tap. More information can be found here. This Brewery Bash we will even have electric heaters to keep you warm!

Also, we’ve made two house beers for Pacific House – a bitter and a blonde. Why not come down and try them on the 16th November to see which is your favourite! There will be some fun and games organised by Lydia and Rachel. Keep an eye out on our social media channels for more information.

We hope you have a great week. Make sure to follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to keep up to date!
